After a decade in legal practice I undertook a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law to refine my commercial legal capability and to provide me with the opportunity to undertake more complex commercial transactions.

Drawing on many years of experience, I endeavour to develop and maintain strong relationships with my clients and to provide personal attention and sound commercial legal advice.

Listed below are some examples of the legal services that I provide to my clients:

  • Transactional documentation for the sale or acquisition of businesses;
  • Sales of Shares/Units Agreements
  • Shareholder/Unitholder Agreements
  • Partnership Agreements
  • Joint Venture Agreements
  • Distribution and Sub-Distribution Agreements
  • Food Act contraventions – advice and Court appearances
  • Business Structures, Asset Protection and Succession Planning
  • Liquor Licensing
  • Retail and Commercial Leasing
  • Estate Planning

My background as a retailer has provided me with the opportunity to develop a niche specialist legal service to the hospitality industry. Having nurtured hospitality businesses from their early stages I have the ability to anticipate legal issues that may confront experienced operators, those who have just entered the industry or those that are about to leave. Who better to provide those services, than a lawyer with ‘hands on’ experience?

I previously served as the honorary legal counsel to the Australian Institute of Business Brokers (Vic Chapter) for 5 years until 2015 and am accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a Specialist in Mediation. For 7 years from 2007 I wrote the monthly column on legal issues in the hospitality industry for “foodservice”, a national magazine.
